Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has amended the Regulation 2002-227 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act establishing that, beginning June 1st, 2014, student visas will only be issued to students who have been offered admission to an institution which has been designated by a provincial of territorial government as eligible to enroll international students.

$500 in Canadian funds must accompany each international application. This CDN$500 application/processing fee is not refundable.

Admission Requirements:

  • High school graduation or
  • Post-Secondary graduation or
  • Documentation of English Language Proficiency may be required.

Policies and Procedures for Language Proficiency:

  • International students coming from countries with English as an official language can be accepted without verification of English language proficiency.
  • Students coming from countries where English is not an official language, must provide documentation of English proficiency. TOEFL (minimum score of 550 for paper testing) or comparable Canadian Benchmark Language Standard.

Acceptance:

Upon receipt of the completed application, proof of educational compliance and CDN$500 application/processing fee, Atlantic Business College will e-mail an Acceptance Letter to the client or agent.

Tuition Deposit:

A tuition deposit of CDN$2300.00 is due 20 days after Acceptance Letter is issued. This deposit will be refunded if student does not attend college. Applicants must inform Atlantic Business College of their student visa approval and date of arrival in Canada at least 3 weeks prior to the start of a program.

Atlantic Business College

International Student Information

International students will be charged an International Tuition Fee of $2300CDN, payable 20 days after the Acceptance Letter is issued and must be paid in Canadian funds. Payment can be made with Visa, MasterCard, Money Order or E-Transfer. This $2300CDN fee will be refunded if the student does not attend college.

Program registration for International students will be held the Thursday prior to the first day of class. International students must pay their fees in full at registration. Payment can be made with Cash, Money Order or Certified Cheque. An additional 5% will be charged for Visa or MasterCard payments to cover bank service charges. All fees must be paid in Canadian funds.

The actual cost of textbooks for each program will be available at registration.

Tuition, Fees and Refunds:

Tuition paid by International Students will be deposited in a “Trust” account and will not be transferred to the company’s general operating account until earned. As per the Private Occupational Training Act (O.C. 840679) Under Section 10 “If students receive instruction in any quarter, they are responsible for all tuition up to the end of that quarter.”

Deadline for returning textbooks for credit is October 30 for programs starting in September and February 28 for programs starting in January.
