Program Description:

This course is designed for those that wish to develop their accounting knowledge so they can work in an accounting/payroll environment. The program contains a university level accounting course that spans the entire academic year. Payroll record keeping regulations and recording methods are covered in depth using manual and computerized methods. Students receive a comprehensive course load including spreadsheets, various computerized accounting packages, word processing, management, and business courses.

The diploma certification in our college will leads to an Accounting and Payroll Administrator post. They collect, verify and process accounting and payroll information, determine pay and benefit entitlements for employees, maintain accurate accounting and payroll records, and provide this information within a department, company, or other establishment.

They are employed by Accounting and Payroll administration companies and by establishments throughout the public and private sectors. Equal emphasis is placed on comprehension and practical application. Successful students are ready for immediate employment in an accounting or payroll position.

Job opportunities for Accounting and Payroll Administrators (NOC 1432) are good in New Brunswick over the next 3 years.

Salary Expectations:

$23,500-$33,500 per annum.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Senior secondary or high school (Grade 12) transcripts of graduation credentials, courses studied, and grades earned.
  2. .Transcripts should have Grade 12 Math or Science or Commerce and English Credits.
  3. The language of instruction at Atlantic Business College is English. In addition to the academic admission requirements, all applicants for whom English is not their first language and/or are coming from countries where English is not an official language, must provide proof of language proficiency.

Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria to meet Atlantic Business College’s English language Proficiency requirements:
