Accounting 100 – 12 Weeks
This course will provide students with a strong foundation in accounting and a clear understanding of accounting terminology. Students will be prepared to enter the job market; to understand the usefulness and importance of accounting procedures as business owners, managers or office workers. Students will also be prepared to continue their studies in advanced accounting courses.

Accounting 200 – 12 Weeks
In this course the emphasis is on a merchandising business rather than a service based company. Students will learn the accounting practices and differences in financial statements of a company that buys products and then resells them. Students will also be introduced to dealing with customer accounts and notes receivable. Finally, students will learn how a company records, depreciates and disposes of capital assets.

Accounting 300 – 12 Weeks
This course introduces students to the recording of a variety of liability transactions for business. Focus changes from sole proprietorship transactions to the reporting of partnership and corporate transactions and financial statements. The conclusion of the course is an introduction to the purpose classifications and preparation of a cash flow statement.

Simply Accounting – 12 Weeks
This course provides students with the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively work with Sage Simply Accounting. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
· Perform cash sales and purchases, use the general journal
· Perform basic and advanced customer and vendor transactions
· Complete credit card and bank reconciliations
· Perform basic payroll transactions
· Generate various customer, vendor and payroll reports
· Set-up inventory records, complete inventory adjustments and assemble inventory items
· Work with sales and purchase orders, quotes and deposits
· Project allocations
· Create employee records, ROE’s and work with vacation pay
· Create and work on budgets
· Create company records from scratch
· Use time and billing
· Work with departmental accounting

QuickBooks – 6 Weeks
This course will provide you with the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively work with Quickbooks
Pro 2012. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
· Perform cash sales and purchases.
· Use the general journal
· Perform basic and advanced customer and vendor transactions.
· Complete credit card and bank reconciliations
· Perform basic payroll transactions
· Generate various customer, vendor, and accountant reports.

Communications – 6 Weeks
This course develops basic language and communication skills. Business letters, reports and interpersonal skills are addressed as communication becomes increasingly important in the shrinking global marketplace.

Microsoft Excel – 12 Weeks
This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to utilize Microsoft Excel. Students will learn to create a simple worksheet by entering labels and values, build a worksheet using copy and paste, fill and autofill, find/replace, column width and row height, hide columns and rows and copy cell formatting, insert and delete columns and rows, create formulas and use functions such as Average, Max, Sum, NOW, IF, Vlookup and Dfunction, filter databases using Auto Filter, Criteria and Extract, work with cell references including relative, absolute and mixed, format cells using number formats and changing alignment, use chart wizard to format, size, move, edit, save and print a chart, protect, save and print worksheets, charts and formulas.

Introduction to Canadian Payroll/Occupational Health & Safety – 6 Weeks
Payroll is one of the most important responsibilities of a business. Students completing this course will be capable of handling all forms, accounting entries and requirements of payroll legislation from the hiring of a new employee to the final record of employment.

Occupational Health & Safety is designed to give a general overview of the concepts behind safety in the workplace and the accounting for this program.

Microsoft Word – 6 Weeks
This course provides students with the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to utilize Microsoft Office Word’s interface. Students will learn to create text, edit and revise documents. Upon completion of this course, students will have the ability to make documents look professional, emphasizing texts, making lists, adding smart art, manipulating graphics and using styles.
